Hey! You made it! Unfortunately, I don't maintain this wiki at all, beyond this page. Wiki's do make for a nice web-editable landing page though, don't you think? There's even the option of adding other pages with more detail, but in practice I rarely do that. Maybe when I get around to procrastinating thesis writing that'll start to happen. Who knows.

I finally got around to buying an actual domain and benland.us now points to my server.

About Me

I'm currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Physics at UC Berkeley after receiving a B.S. in Physics (GPA 4.0/4.0) from Georgia Tech in 2013. I have entirely switched research interests from Atomic Molecular and Optical physics to Weakly Interacting Physics and am now working with a group studying dark matter and neutrinos. In November 2016 I passed my qualifying exam, so the last step toward a PhD is writing up and securing signatures. My particular involvement is with the SNO+, Theia, and Watchman projects. I am 26 years old and hail from Macon, GA. I am a long time programmer and have contributed to many a project and learned many a language since I became interested in using computers to automate mundane human tasks (read: cheating on MMORPGs) back in 2001. Check out my GitHub for more about the projects I deemed most interesting. Besides physics and programming, I enjoy the outdoors (that is, photographing them), Minecraft (with mods... lots of mods), and astronomy.
